George Augustine and Barbara Sheets Family

George Augustine was born circa 1782. He married Barbara Sheets or Shitz in April 1807 in Columbiana County, Ohio. Barbara was born circa 1787 in Maryland.

George and Barbara lived in Columbiana, Stark and Seneca counties in Ohio.

George died in October 1846 and Barbara died in 1863. They were buried in Mexico Cemetery in Tymochtee Township, Wyandot County, Ohio.

George Augustine and Barbara Sheets had 10 children:
  1. Jesse Augustine (1811-1891) married Eliza Mills (1822-1909).
  2. John Augustine (1811-1900) married Mary Ann Lane (1814-1878).
  3. Elizabeth Augustine (1816-1900) married 1st Abraham Stalter (1816-1853), married 2nd William Walton (ca. 1813 - ?), and married 3rd Azariah Charlton (ca. 1812 - ?).
  4. Susanna Augustine (1818 - ?) married Ezekiel Eyestone (ca. 1817 - ?).
  5. Margaret Augustine (1821-1888) married 1st Jacob Waggoner and married 2nd Daniel Laudenslager (1810-1882).
  6. George Augustine (ca. 1822 - ?)
  7. Isaac Augustine (Sep 1823-1905) married Susannah Yambert (1832-1909).
  8. Abraham Augustine (Sep 1823 - ?) married Sarah Hartman (ca. 1831-1886).
  9. Henry Augustine.
  10. Polly Augustine.
Jesse and John both report birth date in 1811 but in different months, so at least one is wrong. Isaac and Abraham both report being born in September 1823 and are probably twins.

John Augustine and Mary Ann Lane Family

John Augustine was born 11 July 1811 in Ohio to George Augustine and Barbara Sheets. He married Mary Ann Lane circa 1835, probably in Seneca County, Ohio. Mary Ann was born 15 January 1814 in Maryland.

John and Mary lived in Seneca County, Ohio before migrating to Wyandot County, Ohio and then Wood County, Ohio in the 1850s.

Mary died 20 April 1878 in Center Township, Wood County, Ohio. She was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green, Ohio. After Mary's death, John moved to Michigan to live with his oldest son, Silas. John died in North Star Township, Gratiot County, Michigan on 18 May 1900. He was apparently buried in Emerson Cemetery in Gratiot County, but no record has been found.

John Augustine and Mary Ann Lane had 11 children:
  1. Silas S Augustine (1836-1916) married 1st Mary Carter (1840-1873) and married 2nd Margaret McClane (1854-1917).
  2. Louisa Augustine (1838-1859).
  3. Hiram Augustine (1840-1879) married Mary Ellen Anderson (1847-1879).
  4. George W Augustine (ca. 1842-1888).
  5. Barbara Augustine (ca. 1844 - ?) married Henry A Fox (1838 - ?).
  6. Mary Harriet Augustine (1846-1940) married James Russell (1833-1899).
  7. Perry Augustine (ca. 1847-1879) married Weltha Householder (1851-1877).
  8. John Quincy Augustine (1850-1927) married Elizabeth [--?--] (ca. 1848-1898).
  9. Margaret Augustine (1852-1853).
  10. Jacob L Augustine (1855-1919) married Maryetta Underwood (1857-1913).
  11. Lucretia Augustine (1856-1857).
Sons Silas, Hiram and George served in the Civil War.

Daniel Housley and Sophia Schlutt Family

Daniel Housley was born 24 January 1804 in Maryland. He married 1st Elizabeth Shanefelt on 7 March 1826 in Washington County, Maryland. They migrated to Stark County, Ohio. Elizabeth was born 24 September 1807 and died 14 October 1835. Daniel and Elizabeth had 5 children.

Daniel married 2nd Sophia Schlutt on 10 February 1837 in Stark County, Ohio. They had 6 children. They moved to Medina County, Ohio.

Daniel married 3rd Mrs. Eleanor Frank on 14 October 1847 in Stark County, Ohio. Eleanor was born 16 May 1807 in Pennsylvania and died 15 September 1889. Daniel and Eleanor had no children, but Eleanor had children from her previous marriage that joined the Housley family.

In the 1850s, Daniel and Eleanor moved to Wood County, Ohio. Daniel died on 22 July 1876 in Portage, Wood County, Ohio, He was buried in Portage Cemetery.

Daniel Housley and Elizabeth Shanefelt had 5 children:
  1. Unknown daughter who died before 1876 and had child, Marie Clinger.
  2. Susan Housley (1826-1888) married Frederick Wellhouse (1828-1911).
  3. Henry Housley (1830-1909) married Charlotte Ulrich (1827-1910).
  4. Mary Housley (1831-1874) married David Henshie (1826-1902).
  5. George Housley (1834-1916) married Mary Elizabeth Fiery (1841-1930).
Daniel Housley and Sophia Schlutt had 6 children:
  1. Samuel Housley (circa 1838-1865) died in the Civil War and was buried in Louisville, Kentucky.
  2. Catharine Housley (1839-1925)  married Thomas D Avery (1838-1921).
  3. Rebecca Housley (1841-1883) married Nicholas Dienst (1841-1915).
  4. Daniel Presley Housley (circa 1842 - 1886) married Mary [--?--] (circa 1857 - ?).
  5. Richard Andrew Housley (1844-1927) married 1st Anna A Friend (circa 1847 - ?) and married 2nd Mary Price (1842-1926).
  6. Sophia Housley (circa 1847-1875) married William Wallace DeWitt (1843-1920).

Nicholas Dienst and Barbara Unsicker Family

Nicholas Dienst was born circa 1800 in Germany. He immigrated to Canada where he married Barbara Unsicker. Barbara was a widow with 2 small children, Lewis and Daniel, who were raised by their step-father and used his surname. She was born 28 August 1807 in Germany

Nicholas and Barbara moved from Canada to Cleveland, Ohio to Sandusky County, Ohio to Lucas County, Ohio before settling in Wood County, Ohio circa 1847. Barbara died 30 Nov 1854 and was buried in Portage Cemetery in Wood County, Ohio.

Nicholas married 2nd the probable widow Rebecca Hews or Hughes. Rebecca was born circa 1802 in Connecticut.

Nicholas Dienst and Barbara Unsicker had 7 children:
  1. Jacob Dienst born circa 1839 in Canada and died 29 May 1862 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
  2. Elizabeth Dienst born circa 1840 in Ohio. She was said to have married Rufus Sumner and lived in Trumbull County, Ohio, but no record has been found.
  3. Nicholas Dienst born 29 March 1841 in Ridgeville, Ashland County, Ohio and died 1 October 1915 in Bucyrus, Ohio. He married 1st Rebecca Houseley (1841-1883) and 2nd Mrs. Kate Shaw (1843-1896). They lived in Wood County, Ohio.
  4. Barbara Dienst (1844-1914) married John Wesley Jones (1836-1912). They lived in Akron, Ohio.
  5. Andrew Dienst (circa 1845-1918) married 1st Lizzie R Harris (1847 - ?) and 2nd Anna E J Jannasch (circa 1848 - ?). He lived in Kansas, Missouri and Michigan.
  6. John Dienst (circa 1848 - 1929) married Frances E Dayton (1854-1910). They lived in Kansas.
  7. Henry Dienst (circa 1850 - 1920) married 1st Malvina Trefoy or Trefry (1858-1884), 2nd Emily Harsham, 3rd Jennie L Brown and 4th Vernon Rose Green. He lived in Michigan.
Barbara Unsicker's children from 1st marriage:
  1. Lewis Dienst (1834-1905) married Elizabeth Shaffer (1836-1915). They lived in Wood County, Ohio.
  2. Daniel Dienst (circa 1837 - ?) said to have moved near Lincoln, Platte County, Nebraska, but no record has been found.
 Sons Jacob, Nicholas, Andrew, John and Henry all served in the Civil War.

Hugh THOMPSON and Jane McCARROLL family

Hugh THOMPSON was born about 1840 in Ireland.

He married Jane McCARROLL on 4 September 1856 in Carnmoney, County Antrium, Ireland. Jane was the daughter of James McCARROLL.

Jane died on 11 January 1877.

Hugh married Agnes before March of 1879. On 4 March 1879, Hugh arrived in New York City aboard the ship Ethiopia. His wife Anges and two youngest children, Mary Ann and John, were also on the ship.

By 1880, all of the Thompson children had arrived in the United States. The family lived in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. The family later moved to Butler County, Ohio.

Hugh died in 1905 and was buried in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown, Butler County, Ohio on 9 May 1905. Agnes' death date and place is unknown.

Hugh and Jane had 7 children, all born in Belfast or Carnmoney, County Antrium, Ireland:
  1. William J Thomspson (24 Oct 1858 - 16 Dec 1941) married Libbie Davidson (16 May 1869 - 8 May 1934).
  2. Margaret J Thompson (10 Nov 1861 - 16 Aug 1939) married 1st Charles Wollaston. Married 2nd Henry Edward Bentzel (6 Nov 1866 - 7 Oct 1948).
  3. Agnes Thompson (abt 1865 - bef 1910) married Robert N Schenck (May 1862 - 29 Nov 1922).
  4. Bertha Thompson (30 Mar 1865 - 14 Feb 1958) married John Lincoln Blair (22 Jun 1864 - 23 Jan 1939).
  5. Hugh Andrew Thompson (20 Aug 1867 - 29 May 1930) married Nannie Isabel Blair (9 Aug 1865 - 26 Apr 1947).
  6. Mary Ann Thompson (16 Jul 1869 - ?)
  7. John Jerome Thompson (12 Jul 1871 - 26 Jun 1932).
